Family Pics

Family Pics

I always have good intentions of taking nice family pictures on my own. I usually give up and go to Kiddie Kandids. I am not a photographer (obviously), but I thought I could take some cute pictures of the kids outdoors on Thanksgiving Day. So you know the drill... 1. Get the kids dressed. But one of them spills some food or drink on the clothes as you are walking out the door (in this case it was Bradley that go a hold of my Diet Coke) sidenote: I don't know if I was more upset about him spilling soda on his shirt or losing my diet coke in the mishap 2. Load the kids in the car. But something is always left behind. (Lauren-no shoes). 3. Begin taking pictures. But the kids are not very cooperative (Lauren wants to sit in the grass and decide on her own pose) 4. JUST take the pictures and Hope for the best. But it is quite a chore to get even three kids to smile at the camera at the same moment (please see the examples above).

Moral of the story: Don't even bother trying to do it on your own-go to a professional. So we will be at the mall getting pictures next week. YEAH!!!

Specialist Mangum

As many of you know, I am the middle child of five children. Thus, I have many issues. But that is a post for another day. Anyway, I am really close to my brother that is just older than me. We went to BYU together at the same time after he returned from his mission. He has always watched over me and protected me. I appreciate it now-(I did not always appreciate it-especially when I was younger and he would tell on me to my parents). We also have a lot of fun teasing each other and laughing together. He is an amazing brother and a wonderful father to his three great children. I am writing this post to show my support for him. He decided to serve his country by joining the military just a couple of years ago. He is now stationed in Iraq. I am very proud of him and his family back in Texas. I am excited that we are able to keep in touch via the internet. He has a blog set up about his deployment for us to keep in touch. You can visit it at http://specialistmangum.blogspot.com/ . So I encourage everyone to continue to support the troops and all those that serve our Country. I love you big brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Emily and the kids.

Day Trip

We took a little trip to the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. We looked up some of the information about the hitorical site on the internet with Anthony before arriving. He seemed to enjoy the tour and is interested in learning more.

Bradley wanted to run around and climb on everything (I did get him to stop and pose for a couple of pictures).

Lauren was happy to sit and play in the sand.

It was nice to get out of the house and spend time together as a family.

Hot or not?

Let me preface this post with the fact that I love my husband more than anything. Having said that... everyone knows that there is one (or two) cute actors on a list to drool over. So who is your one "hottie" on TV? Here are some of my friends' "hotties". What do you think? Vote on the poll and/or leave your own nominee as a post. And, if you think are really smart, try to match up the "hottie" with a friend of mine. hmmmm. Who is it that dreams of Flavor Flav? What about that red head from CSI Miami?

1) Flavor Flav--I know he has his own show and all (I have even seen a couple of episodes). He has girls fighting to be with him. So what is it? His elegant accessories (the stylish viking hat and practical clock chain), The beautiful dental work (I think his dentist got all Ds in school), or is it all about his eloquent vernacular? What do you think?
2) Zac--So I have never seen High School Musical.... gasp! That is a sin in the teenie bopper world. I know the young girls dream about him, but for us grown-ups-isn't he like illegal young. But he does have beautiful blue eyes!

3) Sean Connery--Now Sean is definitely a very distinguished gentleman. Ok Ok. He is like 70 years old, but he STILL looks good. He is completely amazing-his accent, his acting abilities, his demeanor, etc...

4) Michael Phelps--He is the hero and star of the Olympics. What an amazing role model. Of course he is in great shape and is unbelievably talented. And he seems like a mama's boy (which can be nice). Not to mention the small fact that he just won 8 gold medals. Sounds like the perfect package. But keep in mind, he has about 900,000 girls drooling over him on his facebook and proposals of marriage all the time. So if you choose him-get in line.

5)David Caruso--I am a big fan of CSI. I even like CSI Miami (sometimes). David is the main detective with Crime Scene Investigation in Miami. You gotta love the sunglasses and the way cocks his head as he points his gun at the suspect. Oh, and the red hair (although it is thinning slightly) is a huge bonus!

6) Bono--Let's see. What can we say about the lead singer of one of the most overrated bands EVER. He does have a nice accent. And he is an activist for good causes, but he is totally full of himself. You choose.

Tag Bradley

This isn't a typical "tag post" in the blog world. This is about TAGS on shirts, blankets, stuffed animals, dolls, etc. My son has a need to hold onto a tag. Weird. Most young children want to have a blanket, teddy bear, doll at night time. Bradley will take any one of those-as long as it has a tag on it. He currently has a shirt on with no tag at all. So at nap time, he will need a blanket or stuffed animal with a tag on it to hold. He was at his Grandma's house and was walking around holding the tag in the back of his shirt. So Grandma thought is was bothering him, so she cut it off. Not a great idea. My son loves tags. So if you see him walking around holding the tag, now you know why. Anyway... hopefully he outgrows this before he starts school.

Lauren's a Star!

Lauren is a star to us. She had her dance recital last weekend and stole the show (at least we thought she did). She loves to dance, sing, perform, and be the center of attention. She did a beautiful job on stage and had no fear in front of the audience. Watch Out-"America's Got Talent"... here comes Lauren!

Here is her dancing pose!

And her other dance pose.
